Steps for Joining Volunteer Opportunities Offered by Jazan University on the National Volunteer Work Platform

In an effort to unify and coordinate the University’s volunteer and community service initiatives, maximize the utilization of the academic and administrative capabilities of faculty members and employees as volunteers, and based on the Community Service Administration’s commitment to regulating volunteer work and enhancing the quality of services provided to university volunteers, the following steps outline how to join volunteer opportunities offered by the University:

1. The Community Service Administration posts Jazan University volunteer opportunities on the National Volunteer Work Platform and shares the opportunity links with the University’s coordinators, who then distribute them to potential volunteers for registration.
2. Volunteers must first register on the National Volunteer Work Platform through the following link:
    https://nvg.gov.sa/
Registration is completed using the National ID or Iqama number as follows:
    * First-time users should select “Register Now”.
    * Returning users should select “Login”.
3. Access the volunteer opportunity link sent by the entity coordinator and click “Join”.
4. Select the period that best suits the volunteer and click “Submit.”
5. The volunteer will receive an email notification from the platform confirming acceptance into the opportunity. Please note that the volunteer’s registered region on the platform must match the region specified in the volunteer opportunity.
6. Volunteers can view invitations received from the University, accept or decline them, and review details through the “Invitations and Requests” section.
7. Upon completion of the opportunity, volunteers must evaluate the volunteer opportunity through the “Volunteer Record” section on the platform. This step is essential for volunteer hours to appear in the volunteer’s record.
8. Through the “Volunteer Record” section, volunteers can view and print:
    * A volunteer record showing the total number of volunteer hours and a list of all participated opportunities.
    * A general volunteering certificate.
    * A certificate for each volunteer opportunity completed.
9. Employees may register their volunteer hours (as part of career development requirements) for:
    * Volunteer opportunities offered by Jazan University through the National Volunteer Work Platform.
    * Volunteer opportunities offered by other entities through the National Volunteer Work Platform.
Registration is completed through the Self-Service screen on the employee’s page within Jazan University’s website. Approval of requests is coordinated with the Deanship of Human Resources and Information Technology, Employee Affairs Unit.
10. If a volunteer opportunity is scheduled during specific hours (morning or evening), any overlap with official working hours must be documented. If the opportunity takes place during official working hours, volunteers may be issued a No Objection Letter, provided that:

* Approval is obtained from the authorized official (Head of the Entity).
* The volunteer opportunity is outside the scope of the employee’s job duties and responsibilities.

11. Volunteer hours for government-sector employees must not exceed 165 hours per month, in accordance with Article Four of the Volunteer Work Regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Volunteer work must not conflict with official working hours unless an approved leave or release is documented.
12. Volunteer participation with government entities must not exceed 5 hours per day. The total volunteer hours with government entities must not exceed 100 hours per month, and volunteer hours with other sectors must not exceed 65 hours per month, with a combined maximum of 165 hours per month, in accordance with Article Thirteen of the Volunteer Work Regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
