Visiting Student

Article Fifty

A visiting student is the one who studies some courses at another university or in a branch of the university to which he belongs without being transferred, and the courses he studied shall be equivalent as per the following rules:

(A) The prior approval of the college in which he is studying.

(B) The study must be in a recognized college or university.

(C) The courses that the student studies outside the university is equivalent to one of the courses included in the graduation requirements.

(D) If the visiting student’s study is in a branch of the university to which the student belongs, then the transfer shall be in accordance with Article 47.

(E) The University Council determines the maximum percentage of courses that can be calculated from outside of the university’s courses for the visiting student.

(F) The averages of the courses that are equivalent for the visiting student from the other university are not counted within his cumulative GPA, and the courses are reflected in his academic records.

(G) Any other conditions set by the University Council.

 

The executive rule of Article 50
First: For a student from Jazan University who is preparing to study as a visitor at another university:

  1. The student must have an academic record (cumulative average) for at least one semester in the college in which he joined prior to his application to study as a visiting student.
  2. The study must be in a recognized college or university.
  3. The student obtains his college’s approval for studying as a visiting student.
  4. The student’s reward will stop in the semester when he registers to study elsewhere. His grades will be decided as per his performance.
  5. The maximum total of the marks that can be calculated from outside the university’s courses is (40%) of the total percentage needed for graduation at the university, within which the number of equivalent hours for the transferred student is calculated.
  6. The visiting student must notify the Deanship of Admission and Registration with an approved copy of the result of his studies as a visiting student, before the end of the addition and deletion period in the following semester. If he does not submit the results of his study, he is considered cut off from those courses and will be dealt with according to Article (15) of these regulations.
  7. Courses are recorded in the student’s academic record as equivalent courses, and are not included in the calculation of his GPA.

 

Second: For a student from another university and wants to study as a visiting student at Jazan University:

  1. The student must have an academic record (GPA) for at least one academic semester from his university in which he is enrolled.
  2. He needs to obtain prior written approval from his university to study as a visiting student at Jazan University, specifying the courses he wishes to study.
  3. The student shall submit his application to the Deanship of Admission and Registration during the period specified in the academic calendar.
  4. It is mandatory to obtain the approval of the college in which he wishes to study as a visiting student.
  5. The maximum number of semesters that a student is allowed to study as a visitor is two semesters at most.
  6. A visiting student is not entitled to request housing from the university, and no allowance will be paid to him from Jazan University.

 

Third: For a student from the university who wishes to study as a visiting student in any branch of the university:

The acceptance of the student to study as a visiting student depends on the capacity of the target college, taking into account the following:

  1. The student must be a regular at the time of submitting the application, have a GPA, and have successfully passed no less than (12) courses.
  2. The student must have approval from his college to study in the other college.
  3. He should obtain the approval of the college he wishes to study in as a visiting student.
  4. The maximum number of semesters that a student is allowed to study as a visiting student is only two semesters at the most.
  5. In the academic record of the visiting student in any branch of the university, all the courses he studied, including grades, semester and cumulative averages, are recorded.
  6. Any exceptions will be considered by the President of the University or his representative.
