Jazan University: Media Department

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, honored 24 winners of the Al-Furqan competition for memorizing and reciting the Qur’an. The contest was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the auditorium of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology in the University City, on Tuesday noon.

His Excellency Dr. Al-Qahtani delivered a speech in which he congratulated the participants, male and female winners that were awarded around 60,000 riyals. Dr. Al-Qahtani praised the efforts of the arbitration committee who worked to make the competition a success. He concluded his speech by thanking the Deanship of Student Affairs for its success in organizing this competition and its keenness to promote meaningful activities and distinguished initiatives.

While the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Yahya Faqihi, explained that the competition witnessed a great turnout from university students, with more than 270 male and female participants. 74 contestants were in the memorization branch in its three sections, while the total number of male and female contestants in the recitation branch reached 198. Dr. Faqihi appreciated the support of His Excellency the President of the University for the competition and his sponsorship of the ceremony honoring the winners.
