Jazan University organizes a Forum to discuss the Trimester System

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, sponsored this morning at the auditorium of the College of Arts and Humanities the activities of the Fourth Forum of Heads of Scientific Departments “Massar”, which was organized by the University Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs under the title: “After the transition to the three semesters” in the presence of the deans, vice-deans and heads of departments.

The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei Al-Qahtani, said that the University is reaping the benefits of shifting to the three semesters, explaining that the first week of the first semester started with high flexibility in the progress and regularity of the educational process, indicating that the scientific papers presented at the forum should be studied and bought into practise. In a booklet, it shall be delivered to the deans of faculties and heads of departments and referred to when making plans.

While the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Abdullah Ishaq, confirmed that the scientific departments play an important and pivotal role in developing plans and strategies after the university transformed all its academic programs to the three-semester system at the beginning of the current academic year 1444 AH.

The forum witnessed the presentation of several scientific papers, where the Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Ahmed Faqihi, discussed the regulations for the study and examinations for the undergraduate level and its executive rules. Scientific papers were presented by the Dean of Post Graduate Studies, Dr. Saleh bin Muhammad Abdullah, the Adviser for Academic Affairs in the Office of the President of the University, Dr. Ghaleb Suwaidy, the Adviser for Student Affairs in the Office of the President of the University, Dr. Hanan Basali, and the Dean of the College of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Dr. Manal Al-Maliki. After that, the floor was thrown open for discussions and queries, which varied in content and was related to the forum, and was moderated by the Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit at the University, Dr. Sanwi Shrahili.
