College of Applied Medical Sciences organize activities to mark the World Diabetes Day

With the participation of the Department of Clinical Nutrition and the Community Service Committee of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, in cooperation with the General Administration of Medical Services and the Operation of the University Hospital and the College of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, an educational exhibition at Jazan University was organized on the occasion of the  World Diabetes Day 2021, which is held on November 14. The event included an educational exhibition aimed at raising awareness around this disease, providing medical consultations and checking blood sugar levels, in the administrative tower building and the Academic Complex for girls at Mahliyya.

In view of the widespread prevalence of this disease worldwide and in Saudi Arabia in particular, where the percentage of diabetics is approximately 27%, and the cost of treatment is estimated at approximately 14 billion riyals. This is expected to double by the year 2045, according to the statement of the World Diabetes Federation.
