Jazan University launches World Alzheimer's Day

Under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Prof. Mar'ei bin Hussain Al-Qahtani, the Vice President for PostGraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Hassan Abu Racine, inaugurated the activities of the World Alzheimer’s Day under the slogan “An Inexhaustible Testament” in the lobby of the university tower in the senior administration this morning, in the presence of the university’s vice presidents and the Supervisor of services Medical and university hospital operation.

Dr. Abu Rasin reviewed the event’s program and listened to an explanation of the exhibition’s sections, which includes the education and awareness corner, introducing the causes of the disease, its side effects, and the relationship of those around the patient.

He also reviewed the section of therapeutic nutrition, healthy options to reduce the factors that cause Alzheimer's, foods that contribute to the increase in symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, and healthy foods that relieve symptoms.

The General Supervisor of the University Hospital, Dr. Madani Al Issa, explained that the university’s holding of the event comes in cooperation with the Saudi Alzheimer’s Disease Society and the participation of students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Specialties at the university, in order to raise awareness among the university’s employees. It also aims to identify the challenges and difficulties of Alzheimer’s disease and shed light on it and the extent of suffering Patients in the world, as well as enhancing their morale, providing the patient with physical and mental fitness and urging him to practice them and take advantage of the capabilities available to him.

While the campaign coordinator, Dr. Fatima Rifai, indicated that the three-day event program will include their presence in the Women’s Colleges Complex in Mahliya, in addition to an awareness seminar through remote communication technology, aimed at reaching the largest possible number of society.​
