"Green Economy" at the University College of Al-Ardah

In the context of promoting community education on the importance of the environment and sustainability and how to access the green economy, the Friends of the Environment Club in the University College in Al-Ardah, organized a workshop entitled “Concepts of the Green Economy” with the aim of preparing national leaders that foster change towards a green economy and sustainable development. It was presented by Dr. Alia Adel, Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry through Zoom application in the presence of 40 students from different departments.

The workshop dealt with several axes, namely the concept of the economy, reasons for moving to a green economy, the concept of a green economy, green economy and integration with sustainable development, the most important sectors concerned with the green economy, namely alternative energy, waste management, land management, water management, sustainable transport, green buildings. The workshop also highlihgted the objectives of the green economy, including supporting innovation and knowledge, creating job opportunities and supporting investment, reducing negative effects on the environment.

At the end of the workshop, best international practices, experiences and pioneering initiatives in the field of green economy and recycling economy were presented. ​
