A word from the Vice Dean for Development

 

Vice-Dean Message

 

With the grace of Allah Almighty, College Vice Deanship for Development aspires to apply the best quality practices for the development of Academic programs. This is ensured by planning, implementing, reviewing and improving every single process with the stakeholder’s involvement.

Our students are our assets and we are ambitious for better future of our graduates with an aim to meet the needs of the labor market. This is done by applying diverse teaching and learning strategies, adopting the curricular and co-curricular activities to shape physical, mental and intellectual growth of our students. We endeavor to find new ways to get them involved and stay engaged outside the classroom by promoting creativity and entrepreneurship culture.

Interdisciplinary initiatives that enhance research are bolstered and grant-funded opportunities are supported in a conductive and serene environment

The vice deanship is committed to adopt, implement and support all initiatives that improves education and leads towards program accreditation by national and foreign bodies.

Tasks of the Unit:

 

1- Submitting periodic reports on the progress of the program accreditation process in all departments of the college after holding the necessary meetings with the coordinators of quality and academic accreditation in the departments

2- Preparing the scientific content of workshops on quality activities and program accreditation, presenting it and archiving it for benefit.

3- Updating the content of the unified room for quality and accreditation paper files, which includes all department files and college files for accreditation, and following up the update of the unified electronic store, which includes electronic copies of all documents.

4- Preparing questionnaire models to measure the level of beneficiaries of the college's services, circulating them to all concerned, and collecting and analyzing their results.

5- Preparing and updating the college's files for academic accreditation.

Tasks of the Committee:

 

1- Completing the work on completing the update of the interface of the electronic portal and updating the contents of all pages in communication with the departments, units and concerned authorities.

2- Designing an identity for the University College in Al-Darb to be touched by the gate.

3- Checking the electronic content in Arabic and English and holding periodic meetings to revise the content and develop the design.

4- Linking to all media channels of the college.

5- Follow up on the update of content, announcements and news on the portal.

6- Creating new icons for each unit of the college and updating them continuously in cooperation with the heads / coordinators of units and committees.

Tasks of the Unit:

 

 

  1. Preparing and implementing the strategic and development plan in the college in cooperation with the planning and development coordinators in the academic departments.
  2. Follow up the implementation of the initiatives of the university's strategic plan for the college and ensure that its indicators are achieved to develop the process of education, scientific research and community service.
  3. Updating the operational objectives of the college and spreading the culture of strategic planning among the departments and units of the college using different methods.
     
  4. Organizing training courses and workshops that will develop the work of the college in various educational, research and administrative aspects.
  5. Compiling and maintaining the Unit's literature, manuals, event documents and activities developed by the Unit.
  6. Collecting performance indicators, auditing them and preparing the annual report of the college.
  7. Nominating distinguished academic and administrative staff, as well as distinguished students, for university and local awards in their field of excellence.

Tasks of the Unit

 

1- Limiting the research of faculty members quarterly and limiting their registration on research networks to ensure research activity for all members.

2- Holding training courses, workshops and extension activities for students and faculty members.

3- Holding the annual research forum of the college and supervising the accompanying workshops.

4- Completing the audit of transactions based on the research output (requests for exceptional increase, excellence and promotion allowance).

5- Listing the students' research projects and the product of graduation projects and raising them to the Deanship of the College.

6- Supervising the activity of the research unit in the college.

7- All activities and events of the unit are conducted in coordination with the coordinators of scientific research in the academic departments.

2- Tasks of the Unit:

1- Follow-up and coordination with the officials of the teaching and learning standard in the academic departments regarding meeting the requirements of the teaching and learning standard.

2- Develop mechanisms to develop and improve the requirements and equipment of teaching and learning, such as libraries, laboratories, teaching halls and Internet halls.

3- Supervising the evaluation of learning outcomes at the level of the college's programs on an annual basis.

4- Supervising the collection and analysis of data and statistics of performance indicators for teaching and learning at the level of programs and college.

5- The unit holds an introductory meeting with the new faculty members appointed contractors to inform them of the study system in the college and the mechanism of guidance in the college.

Tasks of the Unit:

1- Providing information sources, databases and knowledge guidance for innovations.

2- Assisting the innovator in providing the necessary needs to complete the processing of the initial version of her innovation and participate in innovative forums.

3- Organizing scientific lectures, workshops and courses to develop the aspect of cognitive innovation among students and document their content.

4- Supervising the registration of female students in the university student forum and following up the progress of their participation.

5- Supporting the participation of female innovators in exhibitions and events in coordination with the innovation coordinators of the academic departments.

6- Periodic follow-up with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the center's headquarters at the Faculty of Engineering (University City) and the implementation of what is received by them.

7- Create an icon for the unit on the college's website and update it periodically.

Tasks of the Unit:

4- Preparing questionnaire forms to measure the level of satisfaction of the beneficiaries of the college's services (internal and external) and circulating them to all concerned and collecting and analyzing their results.

5- Preparing and updating the college's files for academic accreditation.
