Biology occupies a distinguished and pioneering position among other sciences, as this science embraces within it many independent scientific disciplines and branches such as chemistry, physics and other sciences, but they all unite in their relationship with living organisms.
The department awards a bachelor’s degree in biology and provides excellent opportunities to study biology in various disciplines (botany, zoology, microbiology, and general biology). Efforts are concerted in the department to establish students with the scientific knowledge and basic skills required to understand areas of life, from molecules to cells and from living organisms to ecosystems according to distinct academic standards that contribute to empowering female students after their graduation from competing well in the labor market for job opportunities in related fields, or complete their graduate studies in any of the different branches of biology.
The Department of Biology abounds with a group of faculty members who are distinguished by scientific competence, distinction and the ability to deal with difficulties. They take upon themselves the tasks of teaching courses to female students in addition to conducting scientific research published in scientific journals.
Our mission in the Biology Department is to provide a stimulating environment for learning, education and scientific research supported by an advanced and modern infrastructure, as the department has laboratories equipped with the latest scientific devices to conduct various scientific research in the field of biology, and our department strives to achieve the visions and goals of Jazan University in education, scientific research and community service. He is also keen to deepen the religious and moral concept of the female students so that they contribute to their role in the advancement of their homeland.
